AWIS and MentorNet Team to Provide e-Mentoring Opportunities
MentorNet's One-on-One Mentoring Programs focus on matching women and underrepresented minorities with female or male professionals from all sectors as mentors for one-on-one, email-based mentoring (e-mentoring) relationships. As an AWIS member, you can sign up as a protégé or mentor -- for free.
Why Should You Join?
- For protégés, mentoring provides "real world" information, encouragement, advice, and access to networks (especially those often unavailable to women in male dominated fields). Click here to see what protégés say about their MentorNet experience.
- Mentors volunteer their time to help a protégé, but often find an enriching and rewarding experience for themselves. Click here to see what mentors say about their MentorNet experience.
- With MentorNet's email based program, finding time for mentoring and being mentored becomes easy.
NOTE: The MentorNet Program is currently only able to serve undergraduate or graduate students, postdocs, and early career faculty at universities.
We appreciate that some of our members do not fit this elibility criteria.
You can still participate in the MentorNet's E-Forum, a web-based discussion group system designed to be a supportive and engaging place for Community members to discuss ideas and make connections. The E-Forum can provide a group mentoring experience that is complementary or stand-alone to the MentorNet One-on-One Mentoring Programs. To register, Click here.
