Assistant or Associate Professor in Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at Lehman College of the City University of New York is searching for two tenure-track faculty members at the Assistant or Associate Professor Level beginning Fall 2008. The appointment will be made at a rank that is commensurate with appointee's experience. The successful candidate will fully participate in the life of the Department, College and University including serving on appropriate committees and participating in the Graduate Center.

Collaborations with other departments are strongly encouraged. Interdisciplinary teaching in more than one area of chemistry is highly preferred. Outstanding candidates with teaching and research interests in a) organic chemistry (or closely related field) and b) inorganic/analytical chemistry are encouraged to apply.

A Ph.D. degree is required and post-doctoral experience is desirable. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Also, the candidate must be able to maintain a strong externally funded and high quality research program engaging undergraduate and graduate students that will lead to an international visible research program.
