This year the JumpStarting STEM Careers Symposium will focus on Scientific Writing. We invite you to join our all-star panel of speakers from the Journal Science, Elsevier Publishing and Scientific American who will discuss how to improve your writing skills and give advice to those interested in pursuing a career in scientific writing. If you are unable to attend, but would like to see the presentation, it will be live streamed at during the time of the event.

JumpStarting STEM Careers originated in 2011 as a collaboration between researchers at George Washington, Ottawa, and Gallaudet Universities. It was a multi-day workshop originally called FORWARD to Professorship and was developed to help early STEM professionals [specifically women, minorities and those with disabilities] learn skills to help them prepare for, acquire and become successful in a STEM career. Since 2013 this evolved into a half day, theme based symposium which is held annually at Arizona State University. Website:
