Webinar Description:

Since 1971, AWIS has advocated for women in all areas of STEM. That advocacy has focused on key issues of equality including the expansion of Title IX, pay equity and increasing the representation of women in leadership roles. The AWIS Board of Directors has recently affirmed advocacy and public engagement is a central organizational pillar in the new AWIS Strategic Plan for 2015-2017.

As the largest multi-disciplinary organization supporting women in STEM across all employment sectors, AWIS is the only organization working at the nexus of gender and STEM. We use this unique position to call attention to broad public policy issues that impact the success and advancement for women in the STEM workforce.

This webinar will present our policy agenda for the coming year and feature information about legislation of interest. New strategic partnerships will be introduced along with upcoming plans and events we hope will encourage you to join us in advocating on behalf of all women in STEM.
