This position is located in Sparks, Georgia. The Quality Control Laboratory Manager plans, coordinates, and directs the Sparks QA/QC programs designed to ensure continuous formulation and packaging of products consistent with FIFRA, BASF, and customer standards.
The QC Laboratory Manager is responsible for:
• Oversight of QC functions (including raw material, in- process, and finished product testing) by developing and reviewing data daily, ensuring conformity of finished product to customer standards and applicable regulations
• Partnering with the Manufacturing team to establish a thorough knowledge of the plant production systems, how they function, and how this functioning affects the quality of the product.
• Maintaining all required documentation for QC personnel (including batch sheets, formula cards, specifications, and analytical methods) by developing and maintaining the lab documents database and customer contacts, ensuring conformity of finished product to customer standards and applicable regulations.
• Maintaining and increasing the competency of QC lab personnel by planning, promoting, and organizing training activities, ensuring product quality and reliability.
• Investigating customer complaints regarding product quality and/or nonconformance by making contacts or performing analyses, ensuring that complaints are resolved in a timely manner.
QualificationsRequired:
• BS degree in chemistry, biology, analytical chemistry, chemical engineering or related field.
• Experience managing an organic laboratory.
• Experience with common analytical equipment (HPLC, GC) and wet chemistry techniques.
• Previous laboratory supervisory/management experience.
• Ability to work independently of supervision and also work in a matrix organization.
• Strong leadership qualities to the extent that this function is the "go to" person on all quality issues in the plant.
• Must be both detail oriented and "big picture" oriented.
• Resourcefulness, assertiveness and the ability to appropriately deploy resources.
• Agricultural chemical industry experience desired.

The Center for Cancer Research (CCR) of the National Cancer Institute is seeking a physician with expertise in breast cancer, for a tenure-track or tenure-eligible translational investigator position.The successful candidate will develop clinical trials and translational research studies, care for patients enrolled in oncology protocols and train clinical research fellows.The candidate may or may not have a laboratory effort. Dean of Science and Technology
The College of Staten Island (CSI) is one of 11 senior colleges of The City University of New York and the only public college on Staten Island. CSI offers 36 academic programs and 15 masters level graduate degree programs. In addition, CSI faculty participate in 31 of the 34 CUNY doctoral programs offered through the Graduate Center in Manhattan by mentoring more than 180 students. Over 130 of these doctoral students are full time on the CSI campus, primarily in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth & Environmental Science, Psychology, Physical Therapy, and Physics. Located on a 204-acre park-like campus that is minutes away from the cultural riches of Manhattan, the CSI campus is the largest collegiate site in NYC. CSI contains state of the art laboratories and equipment for scientific research, an advanced, networked infrastructure and is developing a high performance computational center that will support technology-based research, teaching, and learning throughout CUNY. Position Description and Duties: The Dean of Science and Technology reports directly to the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs/Provost, and has responsibility for the supervision of faculty recruitment, tenure, and promotion in seven academic departments (Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering Science and Physics, Mathematics, Nursing, and Physical Therapy). Duties include maintenance of the range, depth, and quality of the division’s academic programs; and allocation of budgets among departments and together with the faculty the Dean develops the divisional long-range plan and implements short-range goals. The Dean of Science sits on the Provost’s Council and in concert with the Dean of Research and Graduate Studies is responsible for promoting academic excellence in the sciences and for assuring that students have access to intellectual and practical experiences that will enrich their lives and prepare them for their post-collegiate careers. The Dean is viewed as the academic leader of her/his Division and should be a scholar of repute with a strong background in college teaching and academic administration.
This is an existing position within the CUNY Executive Compensation Plan, subject to applicable University Policies for job performance, salary, and benefits.
