Freezing Out Young Scientists

We must look critically what the long term impact of highly educated younger Americans struggling to receive research funding. As it says in the Inside Higher Ed article, there is a “proven link between youth and major scientific breakthroughs.” With our societal obsession around the buzzword “innovation,” can we really afford to alienate young scientists? How do we maintain balance between supporting our seasoned, senior-level researchers and the newer scientists?
