Association for Women in Science Executive Director and CEO Janet Bandows Koster to Step Down
WASHINGTON DC, July 20, 2018 – Today, the National Governing Board of the Association for Women in Science (AWIS) announced that Janet Bandows Koster will step down as the organization’s Executive Director and CEO. Koster has led AWIS, the leading organization that advocates for women in STEM, since 2006 and during her tenure oversaw the expansion of programs, staff and funding.
“We want to thank Janet for the contributions she has made to AWIS. Her leadership, vision, drive and commitment to the AWIS mission have been fundamental to building a strong foundation that allows for future growth,” said Bahija Jallal, AWIS National Governing Board President, and President of MedImmune and Executive Vice President of AstraZeneca.
The National Governing Board will begin an immediate search for the next leader of the organization.
