Summer of Science is a 12-week digital campaign led by AWIS, highlighting the voices, achievements, and impact of women in STEM.
Summer of Science runs from May 30 – August 23, 2026, and celebrates the impact of women in STEM. Each week aligns with national science observances (if applicable) and shares a new spotlight story across AWIS’ web, email, and social media channels.
This year’s future-focused theme— The Science That Moves Us Forward — explores the many ways science drives progress, from everyday innovations to breakthrough discoveries shaping the future. The campaign aims to amplify the voices of women in science, highlight the breadth of scientific disciplines, and invite the public to connect with research, innovation, and discovery in new ways.

- A design contest (official summer t-shirt/merch design)

Our award-winning quarterly magazine includes timely industry-related articles that feature workplace trends, career advancement, and advocacy work in Washington, DC, and across the country.
